| This
is Thorny. She likes to travel. She can't get far on her
own so our Thornham staff have kindly agreed she can go away
with them. They will take photos to show you (and us left
back in the office) where she has been. |

Thorny's first trip of 2007 was to
Australia with Liz and her husband Pete. She had a wonderful
time.

Thorny has been
learning about climate change. She
knows that when you fly, drive or heat your home carbon dioxide
is given off and your are adding to global warming.
This is called your carbon footprint. Thorny has decided
that she will calculate her carbon footprint is. Adding
up all these journeys it was .65 tonnes in 2006, not too bad.
However, having been to Australia she already has a
carbon footprint for 2007 of 5.61 tonnes (AND she has been
too Japan too, not yet on the site!)
Calculate your own
carbon footprint at www.climatecare.org
When she isn't traveling, Thorny lives
in the Field Centre office, either on the filing cabinets
or on Sarah's printer. If you come to see us on a school
trip come and say hello to her.
